Dinner


Carrot and potato mash, with sautéed mushrooms and kippers.
Before I go on, let me say this was one of my more successful meals of the week. I really enjoyed it. When I thought about it's cost though, I was even happier. Bag of potatoes 25 cents, bag of carrots 39 cents, mushrooms 79 cents, kippers €1.04. Granted I added an egg, some milk, butter and parsley to the whole affair, but effectively that's more than a whole meal for €2.47! Recession busting, how are ye!

Haddock and spinach bake with Mediterranean vegetables, and toffee meringues with cream to follow. All shop bought I'm afraid (M&S).

Some olives and some roasted soya beans. Those soya beans are bland!

Noodles in miso soup, a Snickers, nuts and more miso to follow.

I only had the one meal today, spinich and ricotta tortelloni with prawns, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes in a cream sauce. Followed with some mixed nuts and a Wispa.

Wait for it...Spicy Chinese Chicken Noodle Soup! Strike 3 and I'm out! Actually it wasn't that spicy - there was only really ginger, tumeric and pepper to pep it up - but it was nice. Certainly a quick, tasty way to get rid of the chicken leftovers. And for my next trick....
